Aboriginal is an adjective (e.g. Aboriginal people). Note that Aborigine should not be used. An Aboriginal person is defined legally as someone who is a descendant of an Aboriginal inhabitant of Australia, sees themselves as an Aboriginal person, and is recognised as Aboriginal by members of the community in which they live or have lived.

Always check the appropriate and preferred terms based on the subject of your content, your audience, organisation and stakeholders. Some may prefer other terms such as First Nations peoples, First Australians or Indigenous Australians (although this is becoming less commonly used to describe people).
